2014 Craig Rosender Memorial Award winner announced
Glenn Griffiths, Fleet Maintenance Manager for Ron Finemore Transport, is the winner of the 2014 Craig Rosender Memorial Award for excellence in road transport technical and maintenance.
The awards was held at a dinner in Melbourne this week as part of the annual Technical and Maintenance Conference, which is run by the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).
Griffiths was recognised for his work
in developing new equipment such
as fifth wheel coupling aids and
non-slip access ladder covers to
reduce driver injury rates. He also
instigated the “Finemore Fitness”
program that provides subsidised
health club memberships to employees
to help improve staff health and reduce
Griffiths was awarded return airfares and accommodation to attend the 2015 USA Technology and Maintenance Council conference and exhibition to be held in Nashville, USA next February.
In addition, the Castrol Vecton Industry Technical Achievement award was presented to industry identity Bob Woodward for his many years of work, particularly with the ATA in the development of vehicle safety standards, as well as being closely involved in the development of the original B-double combinations, which revolutionised Australian road transport.
